Sienna, thanks for that adjustment with the knee in the back, I swear that did something that feels permanent to my alignment. Really was feeling ill before class, when I stop daily practice the migraines come raging back. Had an amazing 2 months without any (daily practice) Pain, the greatest teacher as you know. Beautiful song as well, “best” in most melodic that I’ve heard in a class, blessed to be able to practice under your watch, thank you.

The hips, core and pelvic floor workshop was fantastic. I learned to think about moving in a whole new way. After the second class, I had to move about four yards of dirt, which I was able to do without any resulting pain. By the end of the workshop, my mobility had improved so much that I kept surprising myself with how easy it was to move around.

I have been practicing yoga since the 80’s and last year found a degenerated L5 disc and lot’s of pain. I wondered if yoga was still OK for my body and felt depressed with pain and loss. After Sienna saw the X-ray and knew exactly how to work me back into spinal health (not cured, but better ) I am slowly re-falling in love with my practice, getting a new strength that I never knew was there for me.

I have been practicing yoga for 20 years and during that time have sustained several injuries, some yoga-related and some not. One major issue was that I tore my rotator cuff, which unfortunately never healed. After a private with Sienna she was able to determine that I had been practicing down dog incorrectly over all the years, so that the muscles in my shoulder and back were not firing properly to sustain the weight. I was overcompensating and I had bad shoulder pain. (exactly what my chiropractor told me independently of this session!) Sienna was incredible. She really took the time to look at what I was doing and carefully analyzing the posture, and now that I am doing it correctly, the shoulder pain has diminished considerably. She is a very gifted teacher.
Your class really helped me center myself and eliminated my work stress completely. My body feels amazing too. Just wanted to say thanks!

Last year I took a workshop from you that focused on spine, pelvis & hip. It was great. First time I was in a class over 2 hours and came out feeling better instead of injured. I’ve been injured in classes when instructors pushed me into postures. You and your class were very respectful of individual body limitations, but still guided us through challenging work. If you decide to do this again, I’d take it again.

I just wanted to say how nice it was to have your lessons on correct rib posture. Last Sunday I was looking at myself from an angle while doing the ‘chair’. I saw my ribs were flared so I tucked them in. While holding the posture I felt my midback scoliosis straighten. I was so excited about this I called my Osteopathic friend who has been doing yoga for some time and said “wow, every one with scoliosis should be aware of this”. He agreed. It was perfect to then have your lessons two days later. Thank you.

My back was killing me from gardening and caring for my baby. Then I tried yoga and within weeks my back was healed. I was thrilled to be able to keep doing the things I loved; gardening and holding my young child without pain. Years later I still do yoga because I feel stronger, grounded and more centered. My favorite pose is handstand because it releases my stress and tension right away. Yoga is a nurturing refuge for me. It reminds me to take good care of myself and to savour every bite of life.

I so much appreciate your classes with such knowledgeable detailed instructions and your sequence of postures is the best. No matter how hard I work – I am never injured or sore “in the wrong places” which is very easy for me to do generally. I always come away with more exquisite knowledge of how to align for maximum efficiency. I keep growing in every class and find myself “doing yoga” all day in the way I stand, move, sit and breathe. Sienna has the unique ability of guiding us with succinct and informed technical instruction- making the possibility of healing injuries a reality, as well as insuring a “safe” daily yoga practice. Her caliber of instruction comes from having first hand experience with healing her own body from 3 car accidents, utilizing yoga and working closely with a chiropractor, fostering a deep understanding of proper alignment for safety and optimal strength… superseding most yoga instructors’ knowledge of either. The Costa Rica yoga retreat with Sienna was beyond the beyond! My life has forever been altered in a major wonderful way! It was so lovely sitting with you in the beautiful and peaceful yoga sanctuary that you have created. It was a pleasure and really a treasure meeting you. Thank you so much for leading and organizing the (yoga) cleanse. It was a really powerful experience for me. I have a newfound strength and respect for myself. I had no idea I could be so disciplined. Not to mention the physical benefits: thinking is clearer, tons of energy, digestion is regular, even my sinuses are clear for the first time in ages!
I went through a rough patch after a relationship breakup and my mother passing away. There was a lot of emotional pain. After 12 years of intensive martial arts I thought I was a strong person but after coming to Yoga Mountain to stretch a little, I discovered there were so many ways in my body that I felt weak and old. I started to coming to class twice a week along with some private sessions. After 6 months, I was absolutely shocked at how strong I began to feel and look both inside and out. I was finally able to handle my life. Many life long symptoms I had simply disappeared. Thank you Sienna for your extraordinary dedication and articulation in your teaching.
